* In the event of a tie in total points, according to the 2012 Motegi Champion Cup Race Special Regulations Chapter 16, Article 70, Section 3), the competitor with the greater number of top-6 finishes will be ranked higher.
* If a decision cannot be made based on the 2012 Motegi Champion Cup Race Special Regulations Chapter 16, Article 70, Section 3), then according to Section 4) of the same article, the competitor with the higher position in the Final Round will be ranked higher.
* If a decision cannot be made even under Article 70, Section 4) of Chapter 16 of the 2012 Motegi Champion Cup Race Special Regulations,  the decision shall be made by the organizing committee according to Article 70, Section 5) of Chapter 16 of the 2012 Motegi Champion Cup Race Special Regulations.
