2015 "Mote tai (Mote endurance)"
August 2 (Sun) Race Report

#1 YSS Racing Bulldozer Tagos, which recorded 172 laps, takes victory!

2015 "Mote tai (Mote endurance)" August 2 (Sun) Race Report Started in 1998, this year marks the 18th edition of the "Mote tai (Mote endurance)" with 129 entries. On August 2 (Sun), 78 vehicles competed in the 7-hour race, including 77 that passed the official qualifying the day before and the winner of the 4-hour final, 【#34 SEEKS and G!trax】. It was a scorching hot day, creating conditions suitable for a summer endurance race as the event kicked off.

The one that showed a good start was pole position #1 YSS Racing Bulldozer Tagos, entering the first corner in the lead. Following this were #68 Riding Sports Fire A from the 4th grid in qualifying, #12 CLUB 1.2 Kushitani Kawaguchi Store, #57 Vesla Racing with Seido Joshi, #42 YSS Mercury & Santa, #9 Plus Mule Racing & NA Team A, #63 DOG FIGHT RACING, and #10 Team Penske.

The opening lap was won by driver Taiga Haneda of #68 Riding Sports Fire A, who dislikes slipstreaming and swerved his machine to the pit wall side as he entered the second lap. Following him were last year's winner #12 CLUB 1.2 Kushitani Kawaguchi Store, #1 YSS Racing Bull Dock Tagos, #42 YSS Mercury & Santa, and #57 Vesla Racing with Braking Girls.

In the early stages, the energetic #68 Riding Sports Fire A was leading, but #12 CLUB1.2 Kushitani Kawaguchi Store, which had a better average time, took the top position and led the race. After one hour, #12 CLUB1.2 Kushitani Kawaguchi Store had a lead of 32 seconds and 633 milliseconds over #68 Riding Sports Fire A. #1 YSS Racing Bull Dock Tagos, #42 YSS Mercury & Santa, and #10 Team Penske also chased with good times, and at the two-hour mark, these five teams were on the same lap. Later, ST-CBR's #99 Racing Team Honey Bee and #87 Assorted Racing also made appearances in the top positions, but #12 CLUB1.2 Kushitani Kawaguchi Store and #1 YSS Racing Bull Dock Tagos pulled ahead with their speed. #12 CLUB1.2 Kushitani Kawaguchi Store, with a long pit stop time of 4 minutes in the Brave class, adopted a 5-pit strategy to save fuel. In contrast, the WT class #1 YSS Racing Bull Dock Tagos made 6 pit stops. The rankings changed with the timing of the pits, but with one hour remaining, a gap of 1 minute and 36 seconds and 522 milliseconds had opened up. Ultimately, #12 CLUB1.2 Kushitani Kawaguchi Store received the checkered flag after completing 172 laps, which was two more than last year, but later received a penalty of 9 laps deducted, finishing in 15th place. #1 YSS Racing Bull Dock Tagos, which showed a perfect race strategy, became the winner of the 2015 'Mote tai' event.

"This year, we were able to secure pole position, and our efforts in fuel efficiency with six pit stops paid off. Of course, everyone worked hard to drive economically without opening the throttle, which contributed to this result. Since 'Mote tai' became 250cc in 2008, I have been participating continuously, and I believe we had an excellent race," commented Tatsuya Kosakabashi with a smile.

[#68 Riding Sports Fire A] finished in 2nd place with 171 laps. [#99 Racing Team Honey Bee] came in 3rd place with 170 laps. In the final stages of the race, three female Riders, [#22 51 Garage + T.Pro] and former MotoGP Rider Tohru Ukawa from [#11 BlueEyes & DREAM Kashiwa], were battling it out when [#11 BlueEyes & DREAM Kashiwa] made an irregular pit stop with 6 minutes remaining. This settled the battle, and [#22 51 Garage + T.Pro] ended up in 4th place. [#9 Plus Mule Racing & NA Team A] took 5th place, while [#87 Assort Racing], despite a fall, managed to recover and finished in 6th place.

Last year, the level had already risen, but this year, the Yamaha R25 made its debut in the Mote tai, and many skilled riders participated, further raising the level. On the other hand, there were teams that enjoyed the Mote tai even without passing the qualifiers, as there was a 4-hour final on Saturday.

From now on, "Mote tai (Mote endurance)" will prioritize enjoyment and grow together with everyone. Thank you for your participation in 2015.
