2011 "Open Mote tai"
September 4 (Sun) Race Report

The #812 Takatsuki Garage Racing Team, which excels in speed, wins from pole position!

2011 "Open Mote tai" September 4 (Sun) Race Report Born as a more accessible and safer endurance race, the 'Open Mote tai' has entered its fourth year this year, with 77 entries. Scenes of enjoyment among shop staff, friends, and family members can be seen in each pit.

In the morning, the sky was cloudy, and the Twin Ring Motegi road course remained wet. By the time free practice ended and the cars lined up on the grid, the track began to dry, and the sun peeked through the clouds, leading to completely dry conditions.

As scheduled, the 2011 "Open Mote tai" started with a Le Mans-style start from the first group of 39 vehicles. The pole position team, [#812 Takatsuki Garage Racing Team], took the holeshot, followed by [#21 PS Eddie & Haratsu Yo Works], [#24 SPA Naoi Instruction & Phoebe], and [#54 Flat River Wing Stone]. The second group of 38 vehicles also started smoothly, aiming for the finish line 7 hours ahead. [#812 Takatsuki Garage Racing Team] accelerated at a high pace from the opening lap, pulling away from the second place and returning to the home straight. On the 8th lap, they marked the fastest lap of the race at 2 minutes 18.273 seconds, establishing a solo lead.

However, when the wind picks up, the movement of the clouds becomes faster. And just as 50 minutes have passed since the start, when the rain begins to fall, it quickly intensifies into a heavy downpour. Suddenly, it turns into rain conditions, and many teams entered their routine pit work at this timing.

At the point when 1 hour had passed, PUTO was in the lead, but at this point, there were 7 cars in a fierce battle on the same lap. PUTO had the All Japan ST600 Champion, Tatsuya Yamaguchi, but it started to rain just as Yamaguchi was driving, preventing him from utilizing his speed. The weather continued to change rapidly, with rain falling and stopping intermittently.

At the timing of the pit-in, the top of the leaderboard also changes multiple times like the weather, with #7 TEAM TOSA+MOTOBUM at the 3-hour mark and #53RacingGarageSTR at the 4-hour mark. Former MotoGP Rider Tohru Ukawa's #11 RC30&BLUE EYES was also once at the top.

As the race approached its final stages, the speed of the [#812 Takatsuki Garage Racing Team] took the lead, pulling away from the rest in second place and below. After completing the 10th pit stop, they returned to the course still in the lead for a final sprint. The [#812 Takatsuki Garage Racing Team] crossed the finish line to celebrate a joyful first victory in the "Open Mote tai." "The team's collective spirit and focus were the key to our victory. We faced some electrical system troubles along the way, which was a bit nerve-wracking, but fortunately, it got fixed in the end," they commented. They marked 147 laps, but it seems it wasn't as easy as it looked.

In 2nd place, the Neo Standard VTR class top of #7 TEAM TOSA+MOTOBUM came in, followed by the WT class top of #75 Power Factory Roadway in 3rd place, each one lap behind. The #53 Racing Garage STR in 4th place and #1 Bulldozer Tagos & Haruman in 5th place marked 146 laps.
