2009 "Mote tai (Mote endurance)" July 19 (Sun) Official Qualifying Race Report In 2009, the season of Mote tai has arrived. On July 19 (Sun), the official qualifying took place, and the starting grid was determined by the combined times of the first and second riders with domestic licenses.

The rain that had been falling until morning stopped, and the time attack took place in high temperature and high humidity conditions.

In 2009, the schedule alternated between the "Mote tai Masters" and "Open Mote tai" sessions. Free practice started at 10 AM, followed by the official qualifying for the first rider of the "Mote tai Masters" at noon.
The top position was marked by Akira Kanemura of #10 WITH ME RACING with a time of 2 minutes 01.120 seconds. Jun Funabashi of #67 Riding Sports & Fire, who achieved his personal best time of 2 minutes 01.147 seconds on the checker lap, rose from 5th to 2nd place. Yuki Sasaki of #24 2Rinkan RT & DFR, who had briefly held the top position, was in 3rd place with a time of 2 minutes 01.277 seconds. Following them were Takahito Ueda of #95 BOON! Companion! with a time of 2 minutes 01.289 seconds, and Takeshi Kuga of #2 2Rinkan R.T with a time of 2 minutes 01.724 seconds, all marking times in the 2 minutes 01 second range.

In addition to the sessions for the 3rd and 4th Riders, a time attack was also conducted for the 2nd Rider. However, the top 5 positions remained unchanged, with #10 WITH ME RACING securing the pole position for the "Mote tai Masters." Unfortunately, #10 WITH ME RACING's 2nd Rider, Hiroshi Maruyama, encountered an accident at the hairpin, resulting in only one recorded lap.
As a topic of discussion, Tohru Ukawa, who is active in MotoGP and holds the record for the most wins in the "Coca-Cola Zero" Suzuka 8 Hours, entered from #30 RC30 & BLUE EYES. He marked a time of 2:00.901 during the sessions for the 3rd and 4th Riders, showcasing a glimpse of his ability.

The qualifying session for the "Open Mote tai" with 76 bikes participating starts with the second rider's session in the schedule. The top position was secured by the first-time participant #21 SP3 & Amphini & Madoka Design, who earned pole position. Although the first rider, Takehiko Kurokawa from #705 Matsumoto Clinic Garage Speed, marked an incredible time of 2 minutes 22.300 seconds, it was not enough for the combined time, placing them in second. Following closely in third was #49 Motor Life Wingstone, fourth was #1 Bulldozer Tagos & Haru Man, fifth was #62 TEAM Utashiro & T Corps ★ Tachirin, and sixth was #23 Moto Clutch & WAKO'S.

Each team will check fuel efficiency, machines, and riding in preparation for the final race about a month later. The 'Mote tai Masters' will be held on August 22 (Sat), and the 'Open Mote tai' will be held on August 23 (Sun), each competing for 7 hours.
