Cutting trees is an important task for satoyama (managed woodland). Light reaches the ground, awakening seeds that had been waiting to sprout, attracting various living creatures. The felled trees are repurposed as firewood and then transformed into charcoal. In the Forest Creation Workshop, we use chainsaws every winter to fell trees. Why not enrich the Halo Woods forest with your own hands?

During the season when grass grows rapidly, if left unattended, only some vigorous grasses will increase. Therefore, by cutting the grass moderately—not too much and not too little—light and wind can reach other grasses and flowers, maintaining an environment where various plants can easily grow. Grass cutting clearly shows changes before and after the work, and the sense of accomplishment after finishing is especially rewarding. While moving your body, both the forest and your mind will feel refreshed.
