#86 Corolla New Ibaraki - Reon Kids - 1 achieves the most laps in Class II with 136 laps!!
In Class I, #125 BLUE EYES K wins the most laps award with 129 laps!

The Mote gi KART endurance festival "K-TAI" will be held on August 4 (Sun) this year, gathering many karters. The driver's briefing will take place on the home straight starting at 7:20 AM, where precautions will be confirmed while watching a large monitor. After that, the traditional group photo will be taken. This photo is scheduled to be featured on the cover of next year's competition rulebook.

After that, we will perform pre-start refueling, move to the grid, and once the opening ceremony is over, we will proceed to the start. This time, there are 8 entries in Class I and 110 entries in Class II, totaling 118 vehicles. On time, the 19th "K-TAI" started with a rolling start from the formation lap, aiming for the goal 7 hours ahead.

The impressive pole position was claimed by PUTO, who took the holeshot, and the teams lined up to the second row, including #310 C.S.I Racing, #51 Tanabota OJISANS, #54 Tact Tsukuba Automotive University, #89 TCG Racing Project, #17 KEIHIN MARIO RT, all getting off to a good start. In the opening lap, #310 C.S.I Racing took the lead, followed by #70 racer racer ACCEL starting from the 12th grid in the fourth row in second place, and #25 racer racer r-kart in third, with a slight gap to #89 TCG Racing Project and #6 Teacher & Salaryman following.

Around the time one hour has passed, car number 9 takes the lead but immediately pits. Car number 73 takes the top position, followed by car number 30, establishing a 1-2 formation for Corolla New Ibaraki - Reon Kids.

At the 2-hour mark, #38 TeamKRS-DAI&MKS was in the lead with 40 laps, but #32 ROSSO@GEN in 9th place was on the same lap. By the 4-hour mark, #86 Corolla New Ibaraki-Reon Kids-1 had taken the lead with 78 laps, and it seemed that only #9 ddd in 4th place was on the same lap. However, various factors such as pit timing, fuel calculations, and machine troubles caused positions to change.

And just as we were approaching the 6-hour mark, #310 C.S.I Racing #1 was in the lead with 112 laps completed. #311 C.S.I Racing #2 followed closely, and the team was in a 1-2 position, but there was a fierce battle with the top eight all on the same lap. When #310 C.S.I Racing #1 entered the pit, #86 Corolla New Ibaraki-Reon Kids-1 took the lead. #311 C.S.I Racing #2, #13 OBK motorsports, and #43 BOOFOOSETSU were also on the same lap, but all had pit work remaining. At this point, #86 Corolla New Ibaraki-Reon Kids-1 began to pull away from the rest in second place and below. At this moment, #310 C.S.I Racing #1 was in second place, but due to fuel consumption issues, they significantly dropped their lap times. Their teammate, #311 C.S.I Racing #2, overtook them to move into second place. #310 C.S.I Racing #1 was desperately aiming for the finish, but with less than 10 minutes remaining, they unfortunately came to a stop. This allowed #43 BOOFOOSETSU to move up to third place and #13 OBK motorsports to fourth, and it seemed like the checkered flag was in sight, but #43 BOOFOOSETSU also ran out of gas and stopped with less than 5 minutes to go.

Leading the pack, driver Hikari Asano of the #86 Corolla New Ibaraki - Reon Kids - 1 completed 136 laps with consistent speed after 7 hours, crossing the finish line. He secured the award for the most laps completed.

"We are raising children through karting, but this time there were various things with the other two teams as well. We used a new engine, but I wish we could have fine-tuned the setup more. It is nice to have won the most laps award individually," said Ken Omiya.

The Class II Excellent Lap Count Award was won by C.S.I Racing #2 and OBK motorsports, who were competing for the most laps until the end, with a total of 135 laps.

Class I saw an intense battle from the start, with the lead changing hands during pit stops among #27 PAROLIN・Team Bear, #125 BLUE EYES K, and #206 r-kart B&S206. The #206 r-kart B&S206, aiming for consecutive victories, fell out of the top battle due to mid-race engine troubles. In the end, #125 BLUE EYES K secured the most laps award with 129 laps, successfully avenging last year's defeat and reclaiming the title of most laps awarded that they had won in 2017.

The Excellent Lap Count Award was given to the #18 Team Humakiller/with PG, which showed a solid performance and rose to the top, and the #27 PAROLIN Team Bear, which was affected by penalties in the final stages, both achieving 127 laps.

The MVP award was given to #75 RF.AOYAMA Sake Powers, which was recognized for its outstanding overall team strength in karting, teamwork, and team PR.

This year, there was not a single safety car intervention, and the car with the most laps award, [#86 Corolla New Ibaraki-Reon Kids-1], recorded 136 laps, which is 9 more than last year. From beginners to veterans, and from children to adults, everyone ran with consideration for both fast and slow participants, allowing the 2019 "K-TAI" to conclude without any major incidents. The upcoming 2020 will mark the 20th anniversary of "K-TAI." Let's enjoy the 7 hours together with everyone's smiles again next year!
