2009 "K-TAI" Mission Class 5-Hour Final Event Report

In the final year of the class with a mission, #7 RS.KOBATO, who participated for 9 consecutive years, won the MVP!

2009 "K-TAI" Mission Class 5-Hour Final Event Report Endurance Carnival 2009 Mote GIKART Endurance Festival "K-TAI" will be held in 2009. On August 1 (Sat), a 5-hour final event for the class with a mission will take place, with 73 teams participating. It was cloudy in the morning and the temperature did not rise much, but by the time we lined up on the grid, the blue sky spread out and the heat typical of endurance events arrived.

"K-TAI" opens with an opening ceremony held on the course. Leading the way is PIPIRA, the mascot character of Mobility Land, followed by all the participants in a parade. On the course, officials and staff welcome them with applause. This ceremony is a ritual where participants and officials cheer each other on for the upcoming endurance event, aiming for the same goal despite their different roles!

In 2009, a player oath was conducted by the MVP team of 2008, led by Director Dai Agatsuma of #1 MKS R&KRS-DAI. Following this, Naofumi Moriyama from the rescue team took the oath as the official representative. It was a harmonious atmosphere, filled with excitement for what was about to begin, as everyone involved came together as one. This has now become an indispensable ceremony for "K-TAI"!

Before the start on the grid, the announcer and the Twin Ring Motegi Angel will introduce all teams in an interview format, entering the formation lap on schedule. Then, the safety car returns to the pit, and the signal changes from red to green, marking the start of the 2009 "K-TAI".

Entering the first corner in the lead was the #43 Garage Chabatake & Kashima Racing, which started from the third grid. Following them were the #34 Yamashou Racing, which started from pole position, the #5 Monocole El Coyote Fmv from the second grid, the #20 RA Racing + Garage Chabatake, the #38 Atom Circuit SSOK No. 2, and the #53 Middle-aged Biker Gang who won't give up Chabatake.

In 2008, #43 Garage Chabatake & Kashima Racing took the lead and quickly established a solo run. In 2009, they showed exceptional speed, rapidly increasing the gap from the second place and below.

At the point when 1 hour had passed, the only two teams running the same lap as #43 Garage Chabatake & Kashima Racing were #20 RA Racing + Garage Chabatake and #34 Yamashou Racing. After that, they had put all teams a lap down.

In the paddock, the "Mini Skirt Police," another iconic feature of "K-TAI," patrol the area, encouraging participants to improve their manners.
If there are any violations of manners, you might get caught by the Mini Skirt Police and receive a yellow card! While they are not strictly enforcing rules, this is the organizer's way of maintaining a friendly atmosphere and ensuring safety during the event.

As the final event reached the halfway point after two and a half hours, a machine became stranded on the course, prompting the entry of the safety car and a full course caution.

This safety car did not affect the situation, and #43 Garage Chabatake & Kashima Racing further extended their lead over the following teams. With less than 30 minutes remaining until the checkered flag, they made an emergency pit stop due to a cracked muffler. After replacing the muffler and returning to the track, they still maintained a sufficient margin. After 5 hours had passed, #43 Garage Chabatake & Kashima Racing completed 123 laps, received the checkered flag first, and won the large displacement category’s most laps award.
#53 Middle-aged Bōsōzoku Korinai Men Chabatake, who completed 119 laps, took second place in the large displacement excellent lap count award, and #44 Team VOICe, who completed 117 laps, took third place in the large displacement excellent lap count award.

The award for the most laps in the middle displacement category was recorded by #19 Effegara Chotto com with 114 laps, while the second place for the excellent lap count award went to #77 7C Agirion Thank you K耐 with 113 laps. Two teams, #30 HEART & SouthWind, achieved 112 laps, and three teams, #1 MKS R & KRS-DAI, #9 Team SWC/macs, and #56 WTR Tsuchizawa Automobile/AKCF, were awarded third place for excellent lap count with 112 laps.

The most laps award for small displacement was marked by #16 Chronos Takahashi Team with 107 laps, while #29 Takanezawa Auto Club OB Team with 104 laps took second place in the excellent lap count award. #24 RKdeCervezaWEST and #73 Chronos Zizy's with 93 laps took third place in the excellent lap count award.

And the highest honor award of “K-TAI,” the “2009 MVP,” was awarded to 【#7 RS.KOBATO】. The MVP is given to the team that, in accordance with the “K-TAI” spirit, enjoyed “K-TAI” the most.
2009 was the final year for the mission-equipped class, but they participated in all nine events up to that point. Moreover, the drivers were always the same members. Of course, with no penalties, the entire team enjoyed the last mission-equipped class together. This was the reason for their selection in 2009.

Next year will mark the 10th anniversary of this memorable event. Let's all enjoy KART at the 2010 "K-TAI"!
