On July 6 (Sun), which was a break in the rainy season, the blue sky peeked through the clouds in the morning, and a refreshing breeze passed through Twin Ring Motegi. As the teams pushed their machines to the grid early in the morning, they took commemorative photos and conducted pre-race checks, each team waiting for the start of the "JOY TAI" in their own style. When all 90 machines were lined up on the grid, the opening ceremony began with a declaration by the Twin Ring Motegi Angels, and General Manager Takao Aoki greeted all the participants. After that, as the team introductions began, the countdown started.
The group splits into 2 and enters a rolling lap, completing one lap while maintaining formation. Then, the safety car pits in, and the blue signal lights up. At the main post, the national flag is lowered, and the 14th "JOY TAI" starts.
First, the pole position car #13 GALASSIA WM DC5 clears from the first corner to the second corner in the lead. Following are #31 Hasepro Lancer EVO8, #57 Towa Intec Racing DC5, #847 Dr. Nomuten Hakutai INTEGRA, #14 Mason BRIDEelf EK9, #95 SSS Civic, #104 I Love S2000, and #27 Chichi Roadster. The car that returned first after the opening lap was #31 Hasepro Lancer EVO8, closely marked by #57 Towa Intec Racing DC5. Following at a slight distance was #13 GALASSIA WM DC5. After that, #57 Towa Intec Racing DC5 rose to the top and maintained that position until the 20th lap, but when it pitted, fuel-efficient machines began to gain positions. #7 Versus wmFUCHSFIT and #48 DIJON Racing FIT finally made their first pit stop on the 40th lap, 1 hour and 50 minutes into the race. This allowed #57 Towa Intec Racing DC5 to take the lead again, but due to fuel efficiency issues, it began to drop positions thereafter. Conversely, gaining positions were #27 Chichi Roadster and #5 Mizuho Pharmacy WIND Mitsuwa EG6.
At the 2-hour mark, #27 Chichi Roadster was in the lead, and at the 4-hour mark, #5 Mizuho Pharmacy WIND Mitsuwa EG6 was in the top position, but gradually closing in from behind was #813 GULFJ-WAVEFITED. Taking advantage of its excellent fuel efficiency, it completed 73 laps around the turnaround point and had only entered for refueling once.
As the race approached its final stages, the battle for the top position narrowed down to [#813 GULFJ-WAVEFITED] and [#5 Mizuho Pharmacy WIND Mitsuwa EG6]. With less than 30 minutes remaining, [#5 Mizuho Pharmacy WIND Mitsuwa EG6] chased after the leading [#813 GULFJ-WAVEFITED] while setting a team best. The gap drew attention as [#813 GULFJ-WAVEFITED] had to make one more pit stop. Then, with 17 minutes left, [#813 GULFJ-WAVEFITED] pitted in. They quickly performed a driver change and returned to the track still in the lead. [#5 Mizuho Pharmacy WIND Mitsuwa EG6] pushed hard, setting another personal best, but the gap was 1 minute and 6 seconds, sealing their fate. [#813 GULFJ-WAVEFITED], who completed 155 laps first, received the checkered flag and claimed the overall victory in the JOY TAI.
"This year, I couldn't measure fuel efficiency due to the constant rain during practice, but the fuel efficiency in the final was better than expected. However, there was absolutely no margin. I've been teamed up with Tomizawa since the first year, and I know Takahashi's speed. I've been driving this car for a long time, so I've always considered fuel efficiency and the balance with other cars while driving. It was difficult to win with the FIT, but in my third year, I was able to achieve overall victory. This is all thanks to the accumulation of three years and the many secret techniques that I can't share with others. "JOY TAI" can be summed up in one word: fun. I hope "JOY TAI" continues to develop in the future." - Piston Nishizawa.
The overall 2nd place [#5 Mizuho Pharmacy WIND Mitsuwa EG6] also recorded 155 laps. It also won the Class 5 championship.
Finished in 3rd place overall, the #77 WINIX FIT3 crossed the finish line on the same lap as the leader. After experiencing trouble in the qualifiers and starting from the 98th grid, the #9 BS Nexus EK9 temporarily led the race and finished in 4th place overall, showcasing a strong comeback to win Class 7. Following them were #29 TNS Mugen FIT3RS in 5th place overall and #48 DIJONRacing FIT in 6th place, continuing the 1.5 Challenge class.
