Here, we introduce tips so that even beginners can fully enjoy the Superbike Race at Mobility Resort Motegi!
The Superbike Race at Motegi is positioned as the 4th round of the All Japan Road Race Championship.
The All Japan Road Race is divided into classes based on engine displacement and performance, but the class that attracts the most attention is the top-tier "JSB1000". The machines used in this class are based on commercially available 1000cc class supersport motorcycles.
As the most powerful class, the highlights are the breathtaking speeds and the intense battles!
It is also a class where top Riders active both domestically and internationally gather.
In the All Japan Road Race Championship, teams using Japanese leading motorcycle manufacturers such as Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Suzuki, as well as foreign manufacturers like Ducati, BMW, and Aprilia, participate. At the opening round, the Motegi 2&4 Race, a Ducati machine won, and a BMW machine reached the podium, intensifying the competition even further.
In the All Japan Road Race Championship, the rider who completes the predetermined number of laps for each class the fastest is declared the winner, and points are awarded according to their finishing position. The rider who accumulates the most points throughout the year is honored as the annual champion.
What determines victory or defeat is not only the Rider's technique in pushing the machine's performance to the absolute limit—such as sudden braking from otherworldly speeds and cornering while leaning the bike enough to scrape their elbows—but also the teamwork involved in machine setup and tire management to make that possible, as well as the team's strategy, which is extremely important.
Watch for thrilling overtakes in the corners, overwhelming acceleration on the straights, and above all, the Riders’ extraordinary skills controlling machines approaching speeds of 300 km/h!
Among these, cornering so sharp that their knees and elbows scrape the ground is truly godlike! Watching live on-site, you can also feel the breathtaking engine sounds firsthand, and even beginners are sure to be captivated by its appeal!
A legendary rider who continues to lead the domestic top class even after turning 40. In the 2025 season, he secured 2nd place on the podium at the opening round, the Motegi 2&4 Race, and won both Race 1 and Race 2 at Round 2, the Superbike Race in SUGO, maintaining a strong lead in the annual points ranking. This season, he is also participating in the Suzuka 8 Hours for the first time since 2019, making him a unique presence who, despite his extensive career, never loses his challenging spirit.
Ryo Mizuno, who has been challenging the JSB1000 class with 'DUCATI Team KAGAYAMA' since 2024, brilliantly demonstrated Ducati's potential by winning the Motegi 2&4 Race that same year. In the 2025 season, although he also claimed victory at the opening round, the Motegi 2&4 Race, he missed Round 2 due to an injury sustained in a crash during pre-event testing at SUGO. His return to the Suzuka 8 Hours and the Motegi event this summer is eagerly awaited.
Returning to the All Japan Road Race for the first time in 8 years since 2017. This season, competing on the BMW factory-spec M1000RR, which also performed well in the Superbike World Championship, he is holding a strong position at 2nd place in the annual points ranking. Utilizing his overseas experience, he is showcasing skillful riding and also challenging the Suzuka 8 Hours, making him a dark horse presence in 2025.
A skilled Rider with experience competing in MotoGP™. Currently ranked 10th in the annual points standings, he made a strong start at the 2024 Motegi 2&4 Race by securing the "holeshot." Since Mobility Resort Motegi is a circuit he excels at, we look forward to a strong and impactful performance!
