"Mote tai"

CONCEPT Concept of "Mote tai"

"Mote tai" is a endurance race that started in 1998 with the theme of "aiming for the world's largest grass race", where any rider and any bike can participate.

Since 1998, the class division adopted an open class where participation is possible for bikes of 125cc or more. Assuming there would be a significant lap time difference between small-displacement and large-displacement bikes, a refueling restriction was implemented to compensate for that difference. By doing so, the "slow lap time small-displacement bike = turtle" and the "fast lap time large-displacement bike = rabbit" were made to compete on the same level, proposing a new style of race to motorsports fans nationwide where it was impossible to know who would win until the very end. In 2008, "Mote tai" underwent a major transformation year, dividing the race into two main classes.
The first class is an open class where vehicles with a displacement of 115cc or more and 250cc or less, 4-stroke, and up to 2 cylinders can participate.
The second class is the NEO STANDARD class, which is also familiar in the Motegi Road Race Championship. The vehicles eligible to participate in this class include top domestic 2 wheels manufacturers, such as the YAMAHA YZF-R25, KAWASAKI Ninja 250R, HONDA VTR250, CBR250R, as well as overseas machines like BMW, making it a class where intense races unfold with a diverse variety of vehicles from both domestic and international origins.

These two class settings have made the charm and fun of "Mote tai" even more pronounced.
