  • Yamayuri

    Yamayuri

    Location: Rabbit's Leap
One of the largest white flowers in Japan, the lily stands out in the lush green forest during the summer. It often grows on the slopes of well-drained and well-ventilated forests where the sunlight shines through the trees. The strong-scented flowers attract large swallowtail butterflies. The bulbs can grow up to 20cm and are sometimes used as a food source.

  • Sankouchou

    Sankouchou

    Location: Kakesu's Migration Road
In early summer, birds migrate from southern countries such as Taiwan and the Philippines to breed. They are called "Tsuki (Mon) - Hi (Sun) - Hoshi (Star) Hoi Hoi Hoi" because their chirping sounds like the three lights of the moon, sun, and stars. They are characterized by bright blue feathers around their eyes and long tail feathers that are about three times the length of their body. They prefer to live in slightly dark areas with cedar and cypress trees and lots of other trees.

  • Miyama Stag Beetle

    Miyama Stag Beetle

    Location: Kabutomushi Hill
The stag beetle that visits to suck the sap of oak and chestnut trees. It is characterized by fine golden hairs on its body and ear-like protrusions on its head. It is said to live in deep mountains and mountainous areas, and it prefers high-altitude cool climates. Here, even though the altitude is low (220m), you can see it as often as the sawtooth stag beetle, which is common in warm flat areas, when the northwestern wind blows in winter and snow falls on the Hachimine mountain range.
